PREPARE FOR THE MAT

LESS GUESSWORK.
MORE FOCUS.

Grappling sessions vary. Use the class format and your gym’s requirements to guide what you bring.

01 / CLASS FORMAT

KNOW WHAT YOU ARE JOINING.

Ask whether the session is gi, no-gi, wrestling or part of a mixed martial arts class. The clothing and equipment requirements can differ. A class description is a starting point; the coach’s current instructions should settle what is required.

02 / FIT

KEEP THE DETAILS CLOSE.

For any garment or protective item, use its own size chart and measurement instructions. Read the intended fit and inspect closures or fasteners. Confirm the gym’s restrictions on exposed hardware, pockets or accessories before taking an unfamiliar item onto the mat.

03 / MMA TRANSITIONS

MATCH THE SPECIFIC DRILL.

A class that combines striking and grappling may call for different equipment during different portions of the session. Ask when gloves or protection are expected, and read the intended use of the exact item. Equipment should be selected around that instruction.

04 / KIT ORGANIZATION

SEPARATE CLEAN AND USED.

Bring the personal items your facility requests and keep them organized. A simple bag layout makes it easier to find the next item without spreading your entire kit across the mat edge. Follow the facility’s hygiene and equipment rules throughout the visit.

CHOOSE FOR THE SESSION

THE SMALL
DETAILS MATTER.

A useful grappling kit begins with a clear list rather than a crowded bag. Confirm the class format, clothing requirements and personal equipment before your first visit. Find out what the facility supplies and what must be your own. This is especially helpful if you are moving between gyms or attending a seminar.

When browsing, separate fit information from performance language. Measurements, construction details and a stated purpose give you something concrete to compare. A campaign photograph can show the atmosphere of the sport, but it cannot confirm a product’s dimensions, fit or acceptance by your gym.

For MMA training, think about how the equipment will be used across the class. Open-finger gloves, boxing gloves and protective items are not interchangeable merely because they appear in the same category. Follow the requirements of the drill and the product’s stated use.

Keep care instructions with each item. Clothing, gloves, wraps and protective equipment can require different cleaning and drying methods. If equipment is shared, make sure the care routine is clear to everyone who uses it. Do not replace product-specific instructions with a general tip.

Before a competition, verify the current equipment and apparel requirements with the event organizer. The training guide here is a way to organize your questions, not a declaration that a particular item meets an event rule. Resolve any uncertainty before ordering.

Build a kit that suits the work you actually do. The training kit and fit guides provide a practical next step, while the MMA collection brings the relevant equipment categories into one place.
